Room # 18 – Southwest Room

This room, with its southwest décor, is a favorite among return guests. The full size and twin size beds guarantee a great night's sleep, while the windows overlooking the park offer a great view of the mountains. This room has its own sink, but guests must use the community bathroom on the second to shower (or make friends with guests in rooms with bathrooms).

August 2011: What a wonderful place to stay! We enjoyed every part of it, and it brought back memories of our country cottage in Russia. We will be back, for the hospitality and the breakfast! Thank you for everything. Stan & Alexey

July/August 2011: Alas – my stay was much too short! Wonderful lodge, terrific food, great views, great hospitality – 5 stars! Hope to visit again in my lifetime. Thank you – Gail, Massachusetts P.S. Sophie is the best!

July 2011: What a fabulous oasis from Kansas City heat! I love the quiet of your lodge & Allenspark. Better breakfast could not be had, and I so appreciated your interaction & helpful tips – Bill, Juanita & Beth! Thanks again Gail, Prairie Village, Kansas

October 2010: Lodging w/ [with] lots of character and practicality, with very interesting and friendly hosts! The breakfasts were awesome – for any type of day’s activity but especially for hiking. We loved the herbal teas too! We enjoyed meeting the horses and I learned a new horse “color”. Color of aspen foliage is just as striking as our hardwood foliage in the autumn. Great location; we enjoyed it all. Dale & Evie, Vermont

November 2009: Wonderful place and room! Waking up to the sun glistening on the fresh-fallen snow and the warmth of the hosts is fabulous! The whole experience – scrapbooking or not, reading or not, exercising or not was fulfilling to the soul. And the food, well, bring loose pants! Wonderful!! Yum! Margaret & Christy *LOVE THIS PLACE – thank you, thank you, thank you

October 2009: What a wonderfully relaxing ‘retreat” at the end of an 18 hour drive through ice, sleet, snow & wind from Chicago. We love the atmosphere, the fixtures, the low beams, the dog – Sophie (we miss our Bessie) in front of the fire. We are going backpacking tomorrow into the Wild Basin area and I know you think we’re crazy as there is lots of snow outside. I know we will bail out early and come back here for another night. The thought of that will keep me going through the cold & snow! Thanks! Louise & Jim, La Grange Park, Illinois

October 2009: We cut our backpacking down by one night so that we could spend another – most relaxing and regenerative night here. Thanks Bill & Juanita & Happy Anniversary (10/15/09)

July 2009: We enjoyed every single minute!! Keep on doing what you are doing and how you do it. 
